The McFarland Story
Long time Ann Arbor residents, Ralph and Loadell McFarland, founded McFarland Tree Service in 1929. The company was based on a simple philosophy- to provide customers with professional quality tree and shrub care services.

In 1965, John Keeney, former Ypsilanti city forester, joined the company. With Ralph as mentor to John, a love of trees created a lasting freindship between the two men. The McFarlands operated the company until their retirement in 1974. At that time, their good freinds, John and his wife, Norma, purchased the company.

After John's death in 1986, Norma Keeney took over the company's top position. Working in tandem with her daughter Sherry Keeney, McFarland Tree Service remained a top notch company which possessed an unparreleled level of professionalism and expertise to assist more than 1,000 clients every year.

Today, Sherry Keeney, who took over her mother's position after her death, has continued to operate the company maintaining the same philosophy it was founded on in 1929
